Can we end homelessness?
WINGS – DO YOU BELIEVE WE CAN END HOMELESSNESS?
Representatives of our Wings Group, Jim Young and Peggy Benedum, attended the Smart Solutions to Homelessness Summit on December 1st. This Summit was attended by almost 250 community members who came to learn more about homelessness, discuss its impacts, hear about innovative solutions taking form in other communities and establishing a plan for greater community engagement and action. Candidate for Pastor will preach on March 17th
The Pastoral Search Committee has a candidate for senior pastor and will introduce him on March 17th. He will be preaching on that Sunday and will be available to meet in various small group settings as well. After church, we are having our 4th annual Chili Cookoff and have two categories – con carne and vegan. This will be a great time to let the candidate and his wife get to know our community in an informal and fun setting. Then, at 6pm, there will be an informal question and answer period with the candidate at church.
On Sunday, March 24th, after worship, there will be a special congregational business meeting to consider calling the candidate as senior pastor.
More details about the activities surrounding the candidate will be available later in the month.
